Digital

Digital is the fastest growing business sector ever, creating several of the biggest businesses in history. It’s transforming economies, whole industries and even human behaviour right in front of our eyes. This makes it particularly exciting to pitch to.

Years of working with creatives, SEO and PPC experts means I’ve grown both to understand and love the digital world probably above any other. Partly because I am drawn by the sparkle of new. I am also naturally curious and want to find out why change is happening and how it works. I am proud to say I worked as a consultant for Apple in Stockley Park for several years. Naturally, I love great design.

Pitching and tendering is a creative, commercial process that should fit very neatly within a digital business but you face your own particular challenges alongside the normal realities of sales, growth and protecting market share.

For example, you often have a lower average age in your workforce, lean staffing numbers and have technical advantages to explain to non expert buyers and to specialists at the same time. Confidence and clarity of expression are really important. I specialise in:

  • Helping you to identify and describe confidently the key messages that set your business apart and innovatively present them using digital and traditional approaches
  • Coaching inexperienced pitch teams to create the winning mindset plus the behaviours to prepare properly to win with a proven, successful coaching process
  • Writing and editing great plain English copy that’s easy to read, engages your readers, sets your offering apart and sells your digital advantages
  • Critically reviewing your wider tender culture and pitch strategy so you are communicating the right messages to win the right work for your business
  • Delivering outstanding training courses that transform how your people present themselves and your business wherever and whenever they do

Some of the digital clients I have worked in or successfully pitched digital to include: Apple; Google; Facebook; Twitter; Qatar Airlines; Latitude; Igloo in Melbourne; Corals; Tesco; Mazda; BBC; and Lloyds bank.

Corporates

Bigger businesses face particular tender and pitch challenges. Your tendering is naturally more complex with big numbers and reputations at stake. The tendering processes you face are more rigorous being also subject to buyers moving both goal posts and deadlines at a whim while displaying their buying muscles too.

This means you have write, get text and figures from many sources across geographically dispersed teams to almost impossible deadlines. Leadership, strategic focus and effective team working are crucial to sustained tender and pitch success.

Pitching a large corporate also has its challenges. Just getting and keeping you whole pitch team together for enough practice is one for example. As a senior player in the tender and pitch coaching space means I have the breadth and depth of experience to win the respect and get engagement from your key people. My special skills include:

  • Coaching key players and national teams to create the winning mindset plus the behaviours to prepare properly to win with a proven, successful coaching process anywhere in the UK, Europe and Australia
  • Writing and editing great copy that’s easy to read, engages your readers, sets your offering apart and sells your business
  • Critically reviewing with your senior management teams how to improve your wider tender culture and pitch strategy so you are communicating the right messages to win the right work for your business
  • Delivering outstanding training courses that transform how your key players present themselves and your business wherever and whenever they do
  • Demystifying Twitter, Linkedin, Pinterest and explaining the essential part social media now plays in business communications especially in pitching and tendering

Some of the large corporates I have worked in or successfully pitched to include: Apple; BBC; John Lewis Partnership; Google; Facebook; Clifford Chance; DLA Piper; National Grid; Major Pension Funds; Barclays; DHL; Royal Mail; RBS; Scottish Hydro Electric; Tescos; Zurich; Jaguar Land Rover; and Sainsburys.
